Agile Product Management with Scrum right now? Each Scrum role will have different challenges in becoming more mature. Many organisations I worked with have a matrix-based structure, where the different roles have a different manager. If these managers are not aligned or use different leadership styles you could end up with a large gap in role-maturity within a team. This can lead to friction and misaligned expectations within a Scrum team. Leaders should create an environment where these roles can work together so they can mature in the same pace. As a leader, make sure that you support the entire Scrum team, so they are not limited by organisational limitations.

Using an outside source gives you the ability to have an expert who has the science and research behind them and can answer your questions. They can also give you marketing examples of how other businesses are using agile and how their own internal marketing is also using the methodology. You have the opportunity to sit back and let them do their thing which allows for your team to transition feeling energized about the whole thing. Before implementing agile, Starmark had a creative department, a digital department, a media department and an account and strategy department. With the waterfall approach one department would hand it off to the next and so on. In 2015 when Starmark eliminated their departments and created work streams.

The next big wave in learning is mobile. When a company makes their learning platform mobile, the send a message to their employees that learning can take place anywhere, at any time. Most employees want to learn on a mobile device and expect apps and websites to be optimized for their device. Mobile learning can incorporate other technologies such as social media, videos, and cloud computing to make the learning experience the best it can be on the mobile device. Some of the most effective learning is outside the usual realm of what we think of as learning. Most learning is informal. It happens all the time, from watching other people, exploring the world, and just talking to others about various topics. When companies capture the essence of informal learning and make learning a part of the everyday lives of employees, they are creating an agile learning culture. As companies grow and employees work to keep up in this constantly changing environment, encouraging agility by creating an agile learning culture can be the perfect remedy to uncertainty and unpredictability. One of the hardest parts to maintain with Agile Project development is the Daily Scrum. Essentially, Daily Scrum meetings are daily sessions where the development team members organize themselves to get things done for the day and to review what happened yesterday. It’s for the team to know where they are in the sprint, to discuss the tasks and User Stories and for the Scrum Master to identify what obstacles have to be taken out of the way. It is usually best to organize it in the morning when it suits everyone. However, when working with remote teams with time differences, an afternoon Daily Scrum might be best appropriate. But just like any part of the Agile Development methodology, the Daily Scrum can deteriorate and turn messy. Here are ways to make the most out of Daily Scrum meetings and avoid its misuse.

Though each Scrum team has a sprint backlog that contains all the tasks for a sprint, there might still be some urgent tasks that interrupt the workflow. Though such interruptions seem to be inevitable, it’s recommended to avoid them. If your Scrum team has to cope with the tasks beyond a sprint backlog, it’ll be less productive and may even fail to deliver an increment of a product at the end of a sprint. Of course, if there are improvements to the code, they must be done as soon as possible. However, it’s a part of a Scrum workflow. All other tasks, like adding new features to a product, for example, must be reported to a Product Owner who should prioritize a product backlog and decide when these tasks should be fulfilled. Scrum teams must be focused. Once the team members are forced to shift from one task to another, a workflow stops to be Agile and Scrum doesn’t work. The best solution to this problem is to have an experienced Product Owners who’ll minimize interruptions and manage a product backlog in the most efficient way.
